This week, our Year 9 students had the opportunity to visit the historic Bletchley Park, and they truly did Brookfield proud. Bletchley Park, located in Milton Keynes, is renowned for being the principal centre of Allied code-breaking during the Second World War. The estate, which includes a Victorian Gothic mansion, played a pivotal role in deciphering the secret communications of the Axis Powers, most notably the German Enigma and Lorenz ciphers12. The efforts of the codebreakers at Bletchley Park, including the famous mathematician Alan Turing, significantly contributed to the Allied victory and are credited with shortening the war by two to four years.

During their visit, our students participated in a fascinating cyber security lesson where they learned about the world of passwords and hashing. This hands-on experience provided them with valuable insights into the importance of cyber security in today's digital age. The students were highly engaged and demonstrated great enthusiasm throughout the lesson.

Overall, it was a fantastic day out, and we hope the students had a memorable and educational experience at Bletchley Park. Their exemplary behaviour and eagerness to learn made us all very proud.
