Summer Uniform

During the Summer term, due to the warmer weather, the following adjustments to our uniform expectations are made:

  • Tights: These are no longer compulsory. Instead, girls may wear dark socks instead of tights.
  • Skirts: We remind parents and students that skirts should be of an appropriate length and should not be rolled up.
  • Blazer: On very hot days we will relax the requirement for students to wear blazers to school. This will be communicated to students and families in advance.

Students who are not dressed according to the code are likely to be sent home to change before being allowed in lessons, where this is not possible, the student will be isolated until uniform is rectified.

Other Rules linked to Appearance, Safety and Hygiene
  • For reasons of health & safety, jewellery is limited to a small stud in each ear and a watch.  Any other form of piercings, for example, lips, eyebrows, noses (including retainers), tongues, navels etc are inappropriate and unsafe in a school environment and are therefore not allowed.  Bracelets and rings should not be worn.
  • Hair and nails should be a natural colour.
  • Fake nails are a health & safety issue and are not appropriate within a school environment and should not be worn.
  • Aerosol deodorants or hairsprays should also not be brought to school.
Electronic Devices

Electronic devices including ear pods, music speakers, ipads etc are not allowed in school and will be confiscated if seen.  If confiscated, a student will be given a same day C4 detention (3-4pm).  The electronic device will be returned to the student at the end of the C4 detention.  Repeat offences will result in isolation and parent collection of device.  If a student is required to bring a mobile phone for use after school, then it should be turned off and stored in the student's bag at all times.  Mobile phones should not be kept in trouser or blazer pockets.

Suitable Bag and Equipment

Students need an appropriately sized bag to carry their books and equipment.  All students should be fully equipped with adequate stationery, including a daily reading book (KS3 students).

Lost Property

Unidentifiable lost property is located in the Pastoral Office. Please could parents ensure that all items of uniform have their child’s name written in.
